Michael's Practice Freelancer Logo Progress 6.10.20

Please note: Initially, I will only need to do these blogposts on Mondays, Tuesdays (and some Thursdays) for 3 weeks (a total of 10 times) because of school*, but I hopefully will continue them afterwards.

*Obviously, I'm not providing services, I'm simply practicing and using Blogger for feedback.

Here is (or was) the original logo I posted in the last blog post* (oh, and I should point out the background image came from https://medium.com/making-music-in-the-21st-century/how-to-make-your-recording-studio-session-as-productive-as-possible-4ed63ba06602):

*That last post is at https://michaelspracticefreelancerlogos.blogspot.com/2020/10/michaels-practice-freelancer-logo.html

I remember reading in a couple of websites (such as https://www.designhill.com/design-blog/rules-for-freelance-logo-designers/) that my logo should be just as good in any size format it might have to appear in, as well as in bw:

Unfortunately the upper block of text is hard to read, especially the right hand side of it (both lines). To be honest (looking back at it), the same issue can be seen in the original or colour version. Here's a colour-monochrome pair of the logos but in red:

Now it's the lower text that isn't clear to read (B/W only), possibly even less so than the upper text when it was orange (whether in colour or monochrome). I should point out that I intended to use the brightest red possible but I didn't (hex code of #dd0000 instead of #ff0000) - but not too much of a difference either. The following should use the right red now:

After looking at the following (and final) images, I think I've learnt something - light colours* (such as the light red #f27373) won't work for the text because they won't be fully readable for the b/w, possibly even their colour counterparts. If I ever choose one again for this logo, I guess I'll have run in to a (rather light) red flag, literally(!), that the text may be hard to read:

*Somehow I must've decided that would reduce the incompatibility between the colour and black-white versions.

Comments appreciated. Thank you.
